Collings Guitars
Collings
Bill Collings started out sharing a shop with fellow luthiers Tom Ellis and Mike Stevens. From there, he set up his own small shop in a wooden "one car" garage. His reputation for outstanding quality and meticulous attention to detail quickly spread. In 1989, he rented a 1000 square foot space and hired two helpers. Dealers and players alike soon began to ask for Collings guitars by name. We have been Collings guitar dealers since the early days and are indeed fortunate to be able to offer these fine instruments.

Collings 000-2HA
Used Collings 000-2HA
super sounding with a comfortable body
Years ago, when we first met Bill Collings we asked, no, we pleaded with him to make a 000-12 fret with an Adirondack Spruce top and Rosewood back and sides. This was back in the day when he would only put Adirondack Spruce tops on Brazilian Rosewood or Mahogany instruments. Well, we must have caught him on a good day, because he agreed to make the guitar. Needless to say, it was a fantastic instrument. This is not that same guitar, but one of the many he has made of this style with the same wood combination over the years. They all have several things in common, Collings' superb attention to detail, exquisite visual appointments and a great robust tone that rivals larger guitars for volume and projection while at the same time exhibiting the subtle nuances that can only come from a body style that's tight and focused. If we wore hats, they'd be off to you, Mr. Collings. With hard case.
