This two hour workshop will focus on basic Hammer Dulcimer skills. This session will be an introduction to the H.D. designed for players completely new to the instrument or just learning their way around. Topics will include tuning tips, suggestions for mallet (hammer) control, scale & arpeggio examples. We will learn three tunes, two in major & one in minor key.
Attendees are encouraged to arrive early enough to check their tuning. They will need; Hammer Dulcimer, hammers, writing pad, and tuning wrench. An electronic tuner & recording device would be handy but not required.
